MAKIVI Project

The MAKIVI Project – “Making Invisible Heroines and Heroes Visible” aims to highlight local figures whose contributions have been overlooked. The project involved young people from Prishtina and Deçan, who researched and creatively presented the stories of these hidden community heroes.

Three MAKIVI actions were implemented in Kosovo, where participants:

  • Researched local heroines and heroes whose achievements are not widely recognized.
  • Designed digital and artistic memorials to celebrate these individuals.
  • Will be sharing their work with the community, raising awareness about diversity, inclusion, and local history.

Through the project, participants gained skills in research, creativity, teamwork, and communication, while deepening their understanding of social inclusion, cultural heritage, and civic responsibility.

The stories created by the young people are published online and can be explored on izi.TRAVEL.

The MAKIVI project successfully empowered young people to bring invisible stories to light, celebrate local heroes and heroines, and contribute positively to their communities.
