Selin Öker has been active for environmental and social causes since the age of 18. She felt the impact of youth empowerment first hand, when she joined Generation Earth, the youth network of the WWF Austria.

Embedded in a community of like minded and passionate teens, they have done countless projects on various topics in the field of climate action and biodiversity loss.

She went on to do other projects with TEDxDonauinsel and Achtung°Liebe and is currently writing her master thesis on youth empowerment and climate action. She is also very interested in sustainable activism and asking herself what young people need in order to stay active for the environment and climate justice long term and joyfully.

Selin will be a guest in the first focus group to share her experience with the young boys and girls from Prishtina with the best knowledge from Vienna!

Ilirjana Kastrati is a Project Coordinator at Environmentally Responsible Action (ERA) organization in Peja since July 2018. With her involvement in this organization, she has cooperated with the municipality of Peja in drafting the Municipal Development Plan and other projects. She also advocates and promotes the circulating economy and develops and implements projects for environmental protection.

Ilirjana works everyday with young boys and girls by training the staff and new volunteers and also supporting civic initiatives in addressing the waste management issue to local and central authorities.

You will have the chance to meet Ilirjana better on September 2 2020 in the second focus group from 13:00.

Granit Gashi is from Peja and is passionate about ideas aiming to create sustainable communities in Kosovo. His name symbolizes the idea of personifying strength, as a symbol of the Albanian bravery of the 90s, an idea which he never managed to embrace.

However, this name has influenced Granit to develop a very close connection with Earth, which made it easy for him to build a great love for it. Through this connection, he has been part of environmental initiatives developed by various groups such as ERA Group, Into the Park and Anibar, for many years during his adolescence.

Addressing environmental issues as well as the urgency of responding to climate change, pushed him to relocate in Prishtina, as well as work at GAIA Kosovo (NGO), as part of the Climate Change Program, which is also his main focus.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Innovation in Politics Institute and the Municipality of Prishtina.
