The Last Tunnel Exhibition | Mitrovica
The stories of 16 women and girls murdered by their husbands or relatives were shown at “Mehë Uka” Square in Mitrovica to prevent and combat #DV and #GBV.
Under the sound of the noise of violence, the public had the opportunity to understand who, when, and how these murders of women happened from their family members, partners, or ex-partners. Through this, we hope to give people a picture of violence that women and girls experience in #Kosovo over a year, year after year. At the end of the installation, the statement of “public commitment” was placed where we all pledge to be active against #VAWG.
Tomorrow we will present the exhibition in Dardana/Kamenica at the city park.
The “Last Tunnel” is implemented by SIT within the 16 Days of Activism and is supported by: UNFPA Kosovo, CARE International Balkans, Austrian Development Agency and OAK Foundation, UN Women Kosovo, Kosova – Women 4 Women, UNTF, and Qendra Kosovare për Studime Gjinore.
