The Last Tunnel Exhibition – 3rd Edition

Remembering femicide victims (the killing of a woman or girl, in particular by a man and on account of her gender) from after the war period in Kosovo, SIT for the third time will present some stories of these victims to prevent and combat domestic violence and gender-based violence. This year, The Last Tunnel exhibition will be installed for three days (6 – 8 December 2021) in three cities: Prishtinë/Pristina, “Zahir Pajaziti” Square. (6th of December 2021); South Mitrovice/Južnoj Mitrovici “Mehë Uka” Square. (7th of December 2021):- Dardanë/Kamenica, “City Park”. (8th of December 2021).

The public will have the opportunity to understand who, when, and how these murders of women happened from their family members, partners, or ex-partners. Also, this exhibition seeks to advocate among people and the institutions for the importance of protecting human rights and combating DV and GBV as leading steps to femicide. Through this, we hope to give people a picture of violence that women and girls experience in Kosovo over a year, year after year. By the end of the tunnel, there will be a statement of “public engagement” where we all pledge to remain active against violence against women and girls.

The “Last Tunnel” is implemented by SIT within the 16 Days of Activism and is supported by: UNFPA Kosovo, CARE International Balkans, Austrian Development Agency and OAK Foundation, UN Women Kosovo, Women4Women, and the Qendra Kosovare për Studime Gjinore.
