Enhancing conflict-management skills of youth

Since May 2020, SIT – Center for Counseling, Social
Services and Research in cooperation with its
partner OEK Sinergija has implemented the first
stage of the “Enhancing Community Resilience
Within the COVID-19 crisis”.

We held 30 meetings with participants from four municipalities:
Fushë Kosova, Kamenica, South Mitrovica, North
Mitrovica. All meetings were held through “Zoom”
online platform due to the situation with the
COVID-19 pandemic. We also distributed 80
humanitarian aid packages with food and sanitary
items for families in need. We distributed 20
packages for each respective municipality.
The first stage of the project finished in August
2020, and we started with the second stage in
September 2020. The second stage is “Enhancing
Community Resilience to Conflict”.
The second stage is foreseen to last until February.

Besides the 40 online meetings that will be
held with participants in the abovementioned
municipalities, online courses for Albanian and
Serbian language learning will be held as well.
During the second stage of the project we will
target more than 40 youngsters, bearing in mind
gender equality, including 50% boys and 50% girls.
We will also enhance language skills of 60
youngsters in Albanian and Serbian. We will
enhance language skills in levels A1 and A2
through online courses that will be held within this
project.

We will also implement some humanitarian
activities as: humanitarian aid for families in need
in the targeted municipalities, small infrastructure
initiatives in community, individual support for
members of communities in specific situations in
life, educational and cultural events, awareness
raising, etc.

This project is funded by Sida – Swedish
