Bridging Green Skills and Peacebuilding on International Youth Day

In a world where the enthusiasm and innovation of young minds hold the key to our future, we celebrated International Youth Day in a unique way this year. Over the course of two days, 16 young people of diverse backgrounds united to learn, grow and make a difference.

This two-day event was more than just a celebration of Youth Day, however, it was a combination of green skills and peacebuilding and their commitment to shaping a better and more sustainable world. The camp atmosphere buzzed with activity, as curious minds delved into Dyvolab workshops and engaged in hands-on projects that brought sustainable practices to life. From discussing climate change to discovering sustainable and renewable energy, these young change-makers seized every opportunity to equip themselves with the tools needed to become advocates of environmental activism and peace-building.

Through their enthusiasm, they not only learned but also collaborated creating a bond between each other to work towards a more sustainable future. However, the camp wasn’t solely about green skills and solutions, it also served as a space for understanding, empathy, and peace. In a society made of differences, this event served as a transformative power of unity. Through dialogues, team challenges, and a shared perspective, participants discovered common ground that goes beyond the environment. They learned that a shared goal, such as preserving our planet can transcend barriers and foster bonds that run deeper than divisions.

In celebrating our youth, we celebrate our collective potential to create a world that’s not only sustainable but also harmonious, a world that we can proudly pass on to those who will follow in our footsteps. International Youth Day may have concluded, but its impact will continue far beyond its boundaries. The bonds forged, the skills acquired, and the vision ignited during those two days will continue to transcend borders, and inspire generations to come.  Through their combined efforts, this camp is a collective effort to the work that can be done when organizations and communities unite for a common purpose.

Behind this initiative is the support of UNDP- The United Nations Development Programme in Kosovo, UNFPA – United Nations Population Fund in Kosovo, K10- and DYVO for ensuring that the workshops are informative, engaging, and dynamic for the participants.
