Achievements of the “Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust” Project in Promoting Mutual Understanding and Respect for Diversity

The conference held within the framework of the “Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust” (Y4IET) project has been a significant endeavor aimed at influencing social culture and promoting values of tolerance, respect, and diversity in Kosovo. Commencing in September 2022 and concluding in March 2024, this project has achieved notable successes through various activities and trainings.

As part of the project, 12 capacity-building workshops for young people were organized, involving a total of 158 participants from 6 different municipalities in Kosovo. These workshops focused on discussing important topics such as hate speech, dialogue, human rights, advocacy, gender equality, and civil society activism.

To influence public opinion and encourage positive changes in society, the project has organized several impactful campaigns. Through campaigns such as “Day against Hate Speech,” “International Population Day,” “Youth Day,” and “International Peace Day,” various multimedia materials including videos and documentaries were created to raise awareness among the public about important social issues.

An important aspect of the project has been the workshop on empowering voices regarding writing for social change. Through this workshop, 12 stories and reports were written by the young participants involved in the project, encouraging awareness and debate on current social issues.

Additionally, the project included a significant component of residential youth camps, where young people discussed topics such as bullying, hate speech, and violence in an important educational and fruitful environment. Furthermore, as a result of the project, 3 manuals have been developed to assist in the continuation of the project’s work even after its completion.

The “Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust” project has been a successful effort to influence young people in Kosovo, encouraging them to engage in building a better and more tolerant society. With the participation of SIT and the support of UNFPA, this project has demonstrated the power of education and youth engagement in promoting important social values.
