The Last Tunnel

Within the 16 days of activism, SIT- Center for Counseling, Social Services and Research will organize the activity “The Last Tunnel”, remembering femicide (the killing of a woman or girl, in particular by a man and on account of her gender) victims from after the war period in Kosovo.
The installation will be open to the public from December 3rd until the 4th in the “Ibrahim Rugova” square in Prishtina, in front of the Assembly of Kosovo and it is open to everyone.
The stories of women victims will be put on the square, and passersby will have the chance to read these stories, to see the violence women in Kosovo go through, year after year.
These stories answer the questions “Who? When? How? What?”, and we hope that we will pass the message to our media that these are the important questions to ask when reporting cases of violence, not “Why?”, because violence is not justifiable!
At the end of the installation there will be a “Public Commitment”, where we all will be able to sign and vow to be active against violence towards women and girls.
The “Public Commitment” is open to all. Join us!
* The activity will be held in accordance with safety measures suggested by the competent authorities.
The Last Tunnel is implemented by SIT and supported by UN Women Kosovo, UNFPA Kosovo, Care International Balkans, Austrian Development Agency and Oak Foundation.
