The \u201cBe a Man Club\u201d has now expanded and established its own\ngroup in Podujeva municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past week, the boys and girls of \u201cBe a Man Club\u201d in\nPodujeva developed some of the topics of the “Y +” program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Power and Relationship” was one of the topics that\nthese young men and young women discussed. They also developed some\ninterpretation scenes on it. They were divided into groups and quickly created performances\nscenes on the power and relationship in cases within the family, society, work,\nand school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Issues such as gender discrimination, violence, the use of\npower, controlling emotions, managing situations, and many other social topics\nwere discussed in these short performances scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the family scene, these boys and girls highlighted the gender\ndifferences that exist within the family, which often make the differences\nbetween girls and boys easy to notice, even in the freedom of movement,\nexpression, property and decision-making. The use of power was also discussed\nin the student-teacher relationship, along with managing situations and\ncontrolling emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youngsters also discussed the violation of the rights of workers\nby managers in the workplace as a result of their authority and the use of\npower. They reported different cases they heard from relatives about different\nsituations they experienced, which are still a topic of discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop ended with new ideas from these extremely\nenthusiastic boys and girls! We have all agreed that human rights, gender\nequality, non-discrimination, prejudice, violence and the prevention of\nnegative phenomena in society need activism and engagement. We decided to meet\nmore often and discuss different issues that concern our community, therefore a\nlot of work and dedication to social causes awaits us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together with these Club members, we are working on the\n“Y+” program development, which aims to prevent radicalism and violent\nextremism. For months now, we have been piloting this project in the\nmunicipality of Podujeva and now we are still holding workshops and meetings\nwith the boys and girls of \u201cIsa Boletini\u201d High School, meetings with public\ninstitutions representatives, teachers, police, social workers, and prosecutor\nof the court from the same municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The more social engagement, the closer we are to gender equality\nand social justice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
